Free no-show revenue calculator for salons, spas and medspas (2026 data)

You already know no-shows are frustrating. But do you know exactly how much they're costing you?
Most beauty and wellness business owners have a rough sense that missed appointments hurt — but the real number is usually worse than they think.
According to Zenoti's 2026 Beauty & Wellness Benchmark Report, no-show rates vary significantly by business type. Medical spas are seeing 4% no-show rates with median tickets of $216 per visit. Non-membership spas sit at 1% with $103 median tickets. Even a "low" no-show rate adds up fast when you do the math across a full year of appointments.
Use the free calculator below to see what no-shows are actually costing your business based on your specific vertical and appointment volume.
How we calculated this
The calculator is built on data from Zenoti's 2026 Beauty & Wellness Benchmark Report, which draws on performance data from salons, spas, and medical spas across North America. Here's what the report shows for no-show rates and median ticket sizes by vertical:
| Business type | No-show rate | Median ticket |
|---|---|---|
| Full-Service Salons | 1% | $114 |
| Salons | 2% | $77 |
| Barbershops | 4% | $34 |
| Nail Studios | 4% | $73 |
| Waxing Centers | 1% | $34 |
| Membership Spas | 1% | $144 |
| Non-Membership Spas | 1% | $103 |
| Medical Spas | 4% | $216 |
If you know your own average ticket size, enter it directly in the calculator for a more precise result.
Why this number matters beyond the obvious
Lost appointment revenue is the easy part to quantify. What's harder to measure — but just as real — is the downstream effect: the provider standing by with no one in the chair, the retail opportunity that never happened, the loyal guest who eventually drifts to a competitor with a tighter booking experience.
The 2026 Benchmark Report also highlights something worth knowing: No-shows and cancellations are distinct problems that don't always move together. Nail studios, for example, improved their cancellation rate significantly year over year (from 16% down to 11%), but their no-show rate jumped from 1% to 4% in the same period. Fewer cancellations in your dashboard doesn't always mean guests are actually showing up.
What to do with your number
Once you've got your estimated annual loss, it becomes a useful anchor for decisions. How much would automated reminders be worth? Does the math support requiring deposits for certain service types? What would a 3-point reduction in your no-show rate actually mean in dollars?
For the full picture on where your business stands across revenue, guest trends, rebooking behavior, and more, the 2026 Beauty & Wellness Benchmark Report is worth reading cover to cover.
