Feature Updates in Zenoti – Apr 2012 return to top
Another month and another update to Zenoti. As promised, each month we continue to advance the Zenoti service forward that today it is undoubtedly the most comprehensive and yet easy-to-use software in the industry. In this month’s update while several of the feature updates have been listed below – the area of Inventory Manager module has gone through several major updates. There never was a better time to start adoption of Inventory Manager.

Commission Accelerators return to top
The flexibility in Zenoti commission definition process just got a lot more richer. Want to give more commission to therapists on doing some specific services or selling a specific product or package. Now, assign ‘commission factor’ when defining a service, product, package, or membership. For example, to give double commission on selling the ‘Beat the Heat’ package, assign 200% as commission factor for this package. When calculating commissions, MMS will automatically multiply the standard product commission by this factor to determine commissions for the sale of that specific package.

Daily Reports and Day Closure SMS return to top
Daily reports and day closure SMS of all centers are now automatically sent to employees with ‘Administrator’ role, in addition to ‘owner’ role. If you want certain employees, other than the owner, in your organization to receive the day closure SMS for all your centers, assign the ‘Administrator’ role.

In addition to the closing total sales amount for each center, the day closure SMS will now also breakout services sale, product sale, membership sale, package sale, prepaid card sale. Further it includes a forecast of current bookings for next two days so that you can act accordingly .

Transfer Business Cash to Petty Cash return to top
Zenoti now allows you to transfer a part of business cash to petty cash. The day closure balance will automatically reflect this. The petty cash report will also record a transaction that a part of business cash was moved to petty cash. Now it is easy to track cash that is taken from the register towards petty cash expenses.

Daily Accounting Report return to top
The daily accounting report can be used to export data into Excel to then transfer the data into accounting systems. It also provides the information in a format to make it easy for you to analyze data using Excel pivot tables. Details on on transactions of sales, tax, discounts, and collections, in specific service and product categories with information on how they were paid for

Allow Changes to Day Closing for past dates return to top
Want to override past day closure figures? Zenoti allows you to edit and update day closing figures if you have this permission as part of your role. You can now modify day closing figures in cash register, cash adjustments, bank deposit, bank name, and so on by editing the day closure from the‘Register Closure’ report in Accounting reports. This is particularly useful if some error was made which required fixes to not only individual invoices but also to the end of day closure data as well. Any change to day closure in the past will result in updating all future dates with the right opening and closing balances automatically.

‘Authenticate Machine’ Permission return to top
Currently, only an owner can ‘authenticate a machine’. Zenoti now allows you to assign this permission to other people in your organization, such that they can also authenticate a machine in the owner’s absence. Contact Zenoti to enable this feature for your employees.

‘Prescription’ Settings Enabled at Center Level return to top
You can now configure the ‘Prescription’ feature at each center level. This is useful in situations where not all your centers will use the ‘Prescription’ feature, but only a few centers that have medical services need to use the ‘Prescription’ feature. You can now define this at each center level, instead of a global organization setting enabled for all centers.

Show Expiration Date of Membership in ‘Take Payment’ Screen return to topt
If a customer has multiple memberships, when processing billing, you might want to apply the benefits of the membership which is expiring first. This is now easy to determine. In the ‘Take Payment’ screen, the Memberships drop down will also have the membership expiration date shown along with the membership name. This way, the front office will know which membership is expiring first, so they can apply the benefits of that membership to the guest invoice.

Print All Sales for a Therapist return to top
Now know instantly, all sales done by a therapist. In the appointment book, the ‘Print Appointment’ menu will also have an option to print all sales for a selected therapist. This report will show guest name, and details of item, such as service, product, package, membership or gift card. Pricing details and redemption details will also be shown. This feature can be used to allow therapists to review not only their daily services done but also the sales of products, packages, memberships or gift cards.

‘Search Guest across Centers’ by Default return to top
Want to make ‘search guest across centers’ a default setting for all your centers in the organization. This is now possible from the Organization Settings page. Once enabled, the front office will not need to select this setting in the appointment book when booking appointments for each guest and this will be automatically selected by default. This is especially useful for a multi-center setup in ensuring that a guest from one center is always discovered quickly at any of the centers that a guest might visit.

Define Expiry for Printing Custom Coupons return to top
You can now define expirations for custom coupons that get printed on the customer receipt. Define expirations in number of days or select a particular date when creating a custom coupon in the Marketing module.

Inventory Supports ‘First In First Out’ (FIFO) return to top
Zenoti supports the first in first out concept for inventory purchase orders. For example, consider that you received 3 Aroma shampoo, worth Rs. 1,500 on 20th from a vendor and received 5 Aroma shampoos, worth Rs.5,000 from a vendor on 22nd. When you do a Retail sale of an Aroma shampoo, the inventory would assume that you are selling from the first batch of 3 Aroma shampoos. Only when the quantities of the first batch are sold, it would assume that you are selling from the items of the second batch. The consumption and inventory reports will take this into account and show the overall balance of products and the value of products accordingly.

Know the Life Cycle of a Product return to top
Look at the ledger report of a product from the ‘Inventory’ page in the Inventory module. Click on the product name and the report will show all transactions of the product, along with dates and quantities. This will show when specific quantities of the product were purchased, when they were transferred to different centers, when they were sold etc. This is a comprehensive summary of all movement of each specific product. You can also export this information.

New Inventory Report – Inventory Value return to top
This report will show the quantities of products in Retail and Consummable and the total quantity and value (in Rs.), along with the tax, for a particular date. The report shows the state and value of inventory for a selected date. The FIFO method is used to calculate the current value of the inventory at a center.
